Privately owned and operated, The King's Head has been a feature of the local community for hundreds of years and our commitment to remaining a great local pub is as strong as ever.

With roaring log fires, great Real Ales and Wines, proper Pub Food, well cooked and with big portions, The King's Head welcomes you 7 days a week with food being served from Breakfast starting at 8.30am right through to last food orders at 8pm Monday to Saturday and 7.30pm Sunday.
We have 6 individually designed letting rooms available 365 days each year. Our rooms are a mix of Doubles and Twin rooms and all are en-suite with a bath and shower.
So whether you're looking for a quiet pint and a place to while away an hour or two, a relaxed dinner, or a longer stay to take in some of the most stunning landscapes in the whole of the UK, The King's Head, which is both in Cumbria and also the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is the perfect place for you.

Whether you are stopping for a quick pint or enjoying an evening with friends, the main bar is the place to be, with traditional features, two log fires, a choice of cask ales and fine wines.

We serve a choice of cask ales including some from the many local breweries in our area so you’re always guaranteed a taste of Cumbria.

We maintain an extensive offering of select gins.

We are Dog Friendly
Dogs are positively welcome at the King's Head. Dog owners can eat or drink with their pets in the bar. We also have have 3 dog-friendly bedrooms.

There is much to enjoy nearby including the upper Eden Valley, the Howgill Fells and beautiful rolling Cumbrian countryside.
The King's Head is situated in Cumbria within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is therefore an ideal base from which to visit both the Lakes and the Dales. The North York Moors National Park is a longer but scenic drive away as is County Durham, the land of the prince bishops. The King's Head is easy to reach, being just 8 miles from the M6 (J38) and 4 miles from the nearby market town of Kirkby Stephen.

Built in the 16th century, the King's Head in Ravenstonedale has been a landmark in the area for 5 centuries. It is a Grade 2 listed building. The pub was completely rebuilt between August 2010 and July 2011 after being closed for nearly 3 years. The pub re-opened on Monday 11th July 2011 and new owners took over in August 2020 after coronavirus restrictions were lifted. Our team extends a warm welcome to guests of our pub/restaurant/hotel.
